The Executive Committee for Northern Norway(ECNN) has as its main purpose to manifest the areas wealth creation potential, identity, and to co-ordinate and solve tasks of common interest in the North.
The purpose is to find the powerful common denominators around which the four owners of the Regional Committee – Nord-Trøndelag, Nordland, Troms and Finnmark county councils can unite. The area of ECNN is the northernmost region in Norway.

Work in the ECNN is led by the region’s foremost politicians in close co-operation with the regional development network of competence existing in the various counties.
The ECNNis a co-operative organisation and a member organisation with members elected by the county councils.
The Committee consists of 18 members elected among the county council and executive council’s members: 6 from Nordland and 4 from Nord-Trøndelag, Troms and Finnmark. The ECNN handles political matters of common interest for the four counties. The Sami Council, the county governors and the Municipal and Regional Department meet as observers at ECNN meetings. The county chief executives or heads of administration meet as observers.
